Can you please get off my yoga mat?

So this past week, narcolepsy has been winning. I have unintentionally taken a few 3-4 hour naps over the past week. Now before you say, "you're so lucky, I would love to nap." I do LOVE to nap, I love to intentionally nap. You know, to turn on the fan and turn off the lights, put pandora on and set a sleep timer :) yes. But when I sit down to work on a research paper and wake up FOUR hours later, it is no fun. My sleeve (Gilbert) does not always absorb my medication correctly, some days he wants me to be useless and sleep all day.
On Tuesday, I again slept through my planned gym schedule. So to show Gilbert who is boss, I grabbed a jump rope and my yoga mat and walked out into a little piece of heaven, on Brunner Street.  If you know Sandy, she likes to get unclose and personal.
In this photo, she was technically not on the yoga mat, but she had been! I jumped rope first. Here is Charlie, being all cool.
It was a good quick workout, and it reminded me, that I cannot be my own excuse.
I have spent most of this week attempting to have my 3 month post-op labs drawn. It took 3 days of fasting each morning, a few phone calls, and two emails. It finally happened today, 8 tubes later and I was a happy camper. To date I have lost 46.8lbs. I feel amazing and I feel hopeful that all the lab work will reflect that also.
I have been sleep walking again, if you see me on the West Side, please lead me back home.
Kim and I started our LIFE study this week, God is already revealing things to us and reminding us of priorities.
I have honestly neglected quiet time recently, not totally, but I have not been intentional about it. I have started a podcast from Church of The Highlands, about Soul Detox and Spirit Detox, so far it's a good word!

Love you guys

How Many Pounds?

( started this like 12 weeks ago, life got chaotic ... let's pretend that it is March) So, Leap Day 2016, I entered CRMC (with my amazingly supportive moma) and registered in the pre-op area. This day came sooner than I anticipated, but again...The Lord has His timing. For those of you wandering (and that did ask) no, I was not nervous. I wasn't nervous about the other surgery either. It just felt like it was the next-step (shout out to my new friend Ben, who is having his VSG as I type). I believe that the Lord covers us in a calm, when it's something that it suppose to happen, when whatever it is, is part of His plan. And sometimes His plan is crazy town. Yancy was my pre-op nurse and that sweet soul prayed over me before they took me back. Thankfully, I don't remember a lot once I got into the Operating Room. I do remember seeing Phillip, Justina, and Blake. They are all familiar and calming faces. Then I woke up in recovery, only slightly nauseated (YAY Phillip). ...

Why are you crying?

Wells, I was crying because God has been showing me amazing things over the past week. I mean, He always does, but flying part of this trip to Tucson has been amazing. On Wednesday morning I left Huntsville at 5:45am (Shout out to GB for dropping me off at the airport). I was able to watch the sunrise, from above the clouds. It was nothing short of spectacular. At that time, I was listening to Head to the Heart, by United Pursuit.   https://youtu.be/FSol3_QZaaI  The second verse sings, " My heart is open wide, I will receive Your light, You give me faith like a child, In You my heart runs wild." As I saw His light, it seemed so fresh and new. I smiled as tears ran down my face: people looked and I didn't care. And then I could not sleep, so I grabbed a book out of my bag, The Best Yes . It was given to me by a dear friend, it's good stuff. I am still reading it now, and underlining all sorts of stuff. When I land tonight at 6:30pm, I will have been able to ...

Who said no?

If you read my last post, you would know that I submitted a claim to my insurance company for them to cover a Panniculectomy, and they had denied it. WELLS I am thrilled to share that they ACCEPTED my appeal and I will be having surgery on Feb 29th. This again ties into the thought that the Lord has perfect timing. I had peace that this surgery would be covered, I just didn't know when.    And just for good measure, the photo on the left was taken in October, when I was four months post op. The photo on the right was taken this morning, and I am eight months postop. I am still right around 276 pounds. I feel comfortable with that because I know that I'm gaining muscle from working out consistently. Love Y'all big! Sara
